Mahendra Baahubali No Match To Sivudu!
The eagerly awaited first look of SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali 2’ has been unveiled a while ago. After observing the response of fans, movie lovers and industry people, we have to sadly admit that Rajamouli & Co. failed to meet the expectations.
The poster would have been hailed as one of the best if it had not been a product of the ‘Baahubali’ team, which has set very high standards with the first part. Prabhas has been introduced as Mahendra Baahubali through the poster. The response is mixed, probably because of the sky high expectations and the high standards set by the first look poster of ‘Baahubali’ first part.
First look poster of Prabhas from the first part didn’t have much VFX but it had the inimitable posture of the actor lifting the ‘Shivalingam’. Comparing with the impact created by that poster ‘Baahubali 2‘ first look failed miserably.
Accolades were poured in by even the Hollywood technicians when ‘Baahubali’ team pulled off a VFX epic in a relatively smaller budget. But, the first look of ‘Baahubali 2’ looked as if it was prepared by amateur VFX artists.
Some opine that Rajamouli has purposely released an inferior poster to put a cap on the ever increasing expectations on the film. Its fine if this was the reason but if not, then Rajamouli will have to be careful while unveiling the next promotional material as fans and movie lovers are in no mood to accept even the best output. They seek ‘Anthaku Minchi’ kind of effort and output from the second part.
Close to Rs 500 crore business is being done on ‘Baahubali 2’ keeping the visual brilliance of ‘Baahubali’ first part. Known as a perfectionist and quick learner, Rajamouli is expected to rectify this setback.
